Just a last little note from us to say that the Zodiac Book Shop closes on the 17th December, so get your orders for good-looking film books, astrological film calendars and postcards and independent zines in now. Remember we also have a small selection of super rare collectible film books for the really committed film babes1. We always try our best to source well and price them lower than certain other unnamed purveyors of cool books, and we have to really force ourselves to sell them because of our own Collector instincts. Scroll further down to feast your eyes on some of the most gorgeous.
If you want to leaf through our stock IRL, come on down to Rio Cinema from 11:30 to 17:00 this Sunday 15th December. Alongside our own wares we have special guest Nick Merdasi and his comic Condoms, our fave read of 2024. Nick got some gorge purple latex to cover the table with, so we’ll be the ones smelling quite strongly of balloons.
Have you ever seen a more beautiful book than this? The rarest of the rare film books, and we have one gorgeous copy. Printed in 2002 and released in a limited edition of 1,500, this coffee-table book celebrated both the sun-soaked imagery of the film and the dark undercurrents of the novel.
Joan Lindsay's renowned novel illustrated with a large selection of images reproduced directly from the original 35mm motion picture stock of Peter Weir's classic Australian film, as well as excerpts from its screenplay by Cliff Green.
The cool kid of film books. 1995 first edition of the original softcover photographic record of the making of Harmony Korine and Larry Clark’s Kids, featuring stills, scripts, and original behind-the-scenes images.
Plus extra Chloë.
This one is actually our current read (we have our own copy, we’re not getting high on our own supply). Film, fashion, and crime? Name a better combination. Quite hard to find these days.
I mean…
We always try and find some esoteric reads around this time of year, and this rare 70s paperback covers everything from ritual magic to witch initiations and international witchcraft, all inside a fabulous cover.
Essential spells for the holiday season wouldn’t you say?
And don’t forget the crown in the jewel. The Zodiac X T A P E Collective Calendar. Here’s a sneak peek of December, featuring road trip movies for Sagittarius season. There’s limited stock available so…
